Ted Shred’s Camps is proud to announce our first year of surf camps. We look forward to providing your child with the complete surf camp experience, touching on all aspects of the surfing lifestyle. We are prepared to educate each camp participant on weather and ocean conditions, physical fitness, and surf etiquette.
Ted Shred's is now bringing their experience and resources in the action sports industry to our surf camps!
At Ted Shred's Camps you will experience the highest level of professionalism, safety, and fun! At our surf camps you will learn how to surf and enjoy the ocean in a safety first environment. You will benefit from having the most experienced instructors that are CPR and First Aid certified. Our instructors are proven in and out of the water with the unique ability to teach what they know. Our staff includes some of the most recognized names in NJ surfing!
Whether you are a beginner and just learning how to surf or an experienced surfer trying to improve your skills we have a program for you! All summer surf camps have a safe student to instructor ratio of 4:1. Why not learn to surf while taking advantage of the beautiful sandy beaches and enjoy a week of fun in the sun this summer? We offer both vacationers and residents alike a tremendous surfing experience they will never forget! Whether you are looking at one of our teen summer camps or our adult ‘learn to surf programs’, we offer the program for you. At our skateboard camps or evening skate sessions you will learn the fundamentals of skateboarding. Our camp director Tom Anderson and his staff will be providing all skate lessons. All skate instructors are lifelong skaters and have a real talent for teaching you the feeling of freedom you get while skateboarding.

Ted Shred’s Camps Summer Skateboard Programs
Our summer skateboard camps are Monday-Friday, 5pm-7 pm. Participants meet at Bare Wires Surf and Skate, which is located right next to the Long Branch Skate Park. We will also utilize the space at Ted Shred’s on rainy nights to use the private mini ramp. You will be contacted and given directions in the event of rain. On rain days the schedule will change from 6pm-8pm. Class size will be kept small to assure individualized attention. Ted shred’s Camps are designed to bring young skaters along through a progression of levels. If you aren’t certain where your child fits, feel free to contact us to help assess your child’s skill level.
Level 1- Level one is for entry level skateboarders. We cover the absolute fundamentals in our level one camps. If you have just purchased your child’s first skateboard or they have been asking for one, Ted Shred’s level one camps will get them off to a great start. Our focus in level one is safety, function and balance. Young skaters who may have a bit of experience but haven’t really mastered pushing, turning and stopping should also come to our level one camps to soak in the fundamentals.
Level 2- Level two campers have either been through level one or have already mastered the basics and are looking for new skills and ideas. If your child hasn’t been through our level one, he/she will be eligible for our level if he/she can:
A) Push along with their front foot on the board (kicking with the back foot)
B) Steer the board confidently to avoid objects and/or other skaters
C) Stop any time with absolute confidence to avoid objects and/or other skaters
Skills covered in our level 2 camps include balancing on the back or front wheels while stationary and in motion, pivoting while balancing on either the back or front wheels, riding the board switch/fakie (opposite stance) and the beginning skills of riding transition(ramps).
Level 3- After mastering the basics, skateboarders have a limitless bag of tricks to learn. There are no rules and creativity is the name of the game. In level 3 campers will spend a great deal of time working on the ollie. The ollie is the lasy piece of the fundamental puzzle that will
